If there's one character from gaming that should have been on the forefront of the mobile craze of running endlessly onward while dodging enemies, it's Sonic. And yet it's taken several years for Sega to pull its finger out and get it done and by this point, I think we're all a little tired of games that require you to just press one button and watch the pretty screen.
Still, Sonic Runners is a real game that's really coming to mobile handsets this spring. Stages are said to be one to two minutes long of 2D, side-scrolling action, will feature a one button play style with automated running and of course, premium items that can help you get through content if you would rather pay to make the game easier.
The game will be compatible with Android and iOS handsets, as well as tablets like the iPad 2 or later.
The game will launch this Spring at some point, though any more concrete release dates have yet to be announced.
