One of Sony’s recently filed patents describe a PlayStation Move controller than can heat up and cool off in response to game events.
The patent document suggests that this feature can be used to make the player feel their machine guns heat up when they are fired continuously. The controller would then cool down again along with the machine gun when the player releases the trigger. The patent noted that the glowing orb at the top of the controller would change color from red to blue as it goes from hot to cold.
Other uses of the new feature include heating up when the player is hit by a fireball or cooling down when the player traverses an icy mountain. It can even be used to cool down the palms of sweaty players.
