Microsoft is touting Cloud Computing as one of Xbox One’s main advantages over PlayStation 4, but Sony's president of worldwide studios, Shuhei Yoshida, clarified that PS4 game developers are given that option too.
Speaking to Polygon, Yoshida explained his belief that relying on cloud computing is discouraged due to bandwidth and latency issues, however Sony is leaving that decision entirely to developers.
"Linking, matchmaking...there are already many computations being done on the cloud side," he said. "We don't believe every title needs that, but if your title needs online connection to provide some online features: Go for it."
