Still suffering from the effects of the two hacking attacks that managed to breach its PlayStation Network as well as the Sony Online Entertainment network, it seems that Sony is about to face another attack for the most ironic reason of all: for mishandling the previous two attacks.
News about the planned attack against Sony were revealed by CNET, whose reporter spoke to the unnamed hackers over IRC (Internet Relay Chat). In the conversation the hackers claimed that they currently have access to Sony's servers and are contemplating their next move. The hackers made it clear that if they carried out their attack successfully, they would publicize all details, including customer names, credit card numbers, and addresses.
Of course it is quite reasonable that CNET reporter was tricked by random IRC trolls.
