Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has been out for just about a month at this stage, which means it's been more than enough time for developers to figure out what works and what doesn't, as well as realizing what should probably have been in the game from the start. For the latter, it's ultrawide monitor support. But for the former? It's a big nerf to the game's Veteran difficulty, which has been seen as too big of a jump from the Normal mode before. Check out the patch notes here.
News in brief
- Space Marine 2's new patch makes some big tweaks and adds some fun new modes too
- The big one for players is the nerf to Veteran difficulty
- Also included are improvements to bots, a new PVP mode, and private co-op lobbies
If you're still playing Warhammer 40,000: Space MArine 2, then it's probable you've been playing it for a little while and aren't averse to cranking the difficulty up a bit. Only, a number of players are finding the jump from Normal to Veteran difficulty is a little bit more punishing than they had expected, and enemy aggression has been turned down a bit to make the experience a bit easier for players — though player health has decreased a bit to balance it out. Also, some enemy spawns in Operations mode have been reduced significantly, with Tzaangors With Shield and Cultist Snipers both reduced from ten per spawn, to four and three respectively. Players will also find that enemies shooting from off-screen also get a minus to their accuracy.
That isn't the only change to look out for. Ultrawide support has been added to the game, but so has a new PVP mode. You can now set up a private lobby for the Operations mode, so you don't have to deal with randoms when you want a game with friends, and you can also set up a friendly sparring session in the Sparring Arena in the Battle Barge. Finally, bot allies have been given a tune-up in terms of their performance. While they won't be strong enough to carry you to victory, they're not quite as useless as before.
