Space Marine 2's community notes ask you to be nice, because of Henry Cavill

There's a bit of a strange addition to the September community notes for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. At the end of the usual reveal for the future Operations mode and a report on fixed bugs, there's a brief mention of being nice to your fellow players, because, er, one of them may have been Superman at one point.

News in brief

  • The next Operations mode goes to Kadaku, a doomed planet
  • Various bugs have also been applied
  • But players are warned to be nice, because Henry Cavill could be anywhere

It's rare for celebrities to get a call out in patch notes, but that's exactly what's happened in Space Marine 2's rundown for September.

"It has been reported that some players were displaying hurtful behaviors or comments in-game. We do not tolerate that and will take action to prevent it.

First and foremost, we kindly ask you to remain respectful, mature and mannerly with your fellow Space Marines. You can never know how old the other players may be, how their day is going, how sensitive they may be… overall, you never know who your brothers and sisters are… It could even be [...] you don’t want to insult Henry Cavill, brother, no you don’t."

It's been no secret that Cavill is a big fan of gaming, and Warhammer 40,000 in particular, so many were expecting him to be taking part in Space Marine 2. The actor was all too eager to confirm those reports in an Instagram post, and as a result, he's getting a call out in the official community notes, because who else could get a bunch of geeks to behave?

Also included was a mention of the next Operations map, Kadaku. Described as a planet which is reaching the very end of a Tyranid invasion, all biomass is in the process of being slurped up by massive powers, which will allow the Hive Ships to feast. While the planet is absolutely doomed, your job as a Space Marine will be to assist the Cadian Astra Militarium to destroy as many towers as possible, and make the Tyranids job a little bit harder. Because if the 41st milliennium is anything, it's really spiteful.
