Nintendo announced today that the final Splatfest multiplayer event for its Wii U hit Splatoon will take place next month, nearly a year after the first event debuted.
Splatoon is one of the most successful Nintendo franchises in recent years. Since its launch, the Splatfests acted as the pillar stones for the community by enticing them to wage paint wars over fateful questions such as "Which is better: cats or dogs?"
Splatfests typically take place across different regions, but the final showdown will take place simultaneously across all regions the weekend of July 22nd-24th. The three days trial-by-paint-combat will decide once and for all which of the two Splatoon characters Callie and Marie is more popular.
The game and its normal multiplayer modes will continue past the final Splatfest.
