SteamWorld Dig was one of the big indie success stories of 2013 (and 14 if you count its popular Wii U port) and the company behind it, Image and Form, is looking to continue that success with a title in the same universe, though with entirely different gameplay. In a new teaser trailer, it hints at its new game, SteamWorld Heist.
Unlike SteamWorld Dig however, which was all about exploration, lonely progression and discovery, SteamWorld Heist is going to involve turn based, ship to ship combat in a Steamworld space setting, where rogue ships collide in to one another before cosmic boarding actions occur with steampunk weapons and metallic guts.
Players will recruit a team of robots to go into battle with, taking on deadly foes like the Scrappers, which have cobbled together bits from injured or damaged robots to create hybrid personalities that are dangerous and cruel, according to the creators.
SteamWorld Heist is set for release in Spring next year, on Wii U, 3DS, Vita, PS3, PS4, PC, MAC, Linux and Xbox One.
