Wacky, waving, medical title, Surgeon Simulator is getting a sequel, unsurprisingly named, Surgeon Simulator 2. Although details remain thin on the ground at this time, the earliest look we have at it is a CGI trailer with a suggestion that multiplayer will be a component of the game. Possibly virtual reality. It also looks as if we'll be able to take bodies apart, and with the magic of virtual surgery, fit them back together again.
A little like a blend of QWOP and a Valve physics experiment, the original Surgeon Simulator was a huge success when it launched in 2013, making its way onto a variety of different platforms in short order. It was originally a silly game jam put together in less than 2 days, but it eventually evolved into a real game with real funding, backing, and development, and became a memeable sensation.
The sequel looks set to expand on that with up to four players working together in a cooperative (and maybe competitive) environment. It looks like it might end up as an Epic Games Store exclusive, but we'll have to wait and see when we learn more next year.
