Ah Homefront: Revolution. A gritty game about gritty people surviving the hostile takeover by Korean soldiers and occasionally kicking back to play some Time Splitters 2 in their clubhouse.
Yes that's right, while you're trying to revert a coup from the dangerous enemy forces, you can also take a few minutes out to play some original Time Splitters 2 levels. They've been lovably ported over from the original PS2/Xbox version and offer a short segment of classical gameplay.
The two available levels are Siberia and Chicago, letting you get access to not only those classic environments, but their time and period specific weaponry too - that being a major feature of the game.
To take a stab at the levels yourself, head upstairs in your main safehouse, right above the fighting cage and look for the Time to Split arcade cabinet. Despite its dusty exterior, that cabinet really works. Simply head over to it, pop in a coin and away you go, you're playing TimeSplitters 2.
This is all a nod to the past of Homefront Revolution developer Deep Silver Dambuster Studios, which as EG points out was once upon a time Crytek UK, the developer of the TimeSplitters franchise.
Though back then it was called Free Radical design. It's all a little complicated, but trust us it makes sense.
