Titanfall PC getting 4K, SLI and TXAA support

Titanfall PC getting 4K, SLI and TXAA support

Titanfall is a good looking game, but it's hardly impressive and that's a bit of a shame for those on PC, who are packing much more powerful hardware than those on even the new-gen Xbox One. However that may be about to change, as the mech squad shooter is about to get some visual tweaks for the PC, enabling TXAA, SLI support and upping available resolutions to include 4k.

Currently trying to run the game at 4K's 3840x2160 pixel resolution, will cause the game to crash, though you can go up to 3200x1800 without difficulty. However, with an upcoming Nvidia tweak, it'll be possible to take it all the way up to 4k for those with monitors and GPU's capable of handling it.

To make sure you'll be able to do it, SLI support is also being added - though why it wasn't there from launch day is anyone's guess. Considering even some of the world's most powerful graphics card struggle to handle the highest detail at the highest resolution, a second one may just be what the pilot ordered.

To give it a bit of extra polish, Respawn is also adding support for Temperal Anti Aliasing, which brings together the edge blurring multi-sample anti-aliasing, post processing effects and some Nvidia filtering to make the whole image look a lot smoother. Shadows should also get a boost thanks to the addition of Horizon Based Ambient Occlusion+.

Unfortunately, nobody seems to know when this patch is coming (neither does Gamespot) but it seems like something the PC audience will very much appreciate.

How are you guys getting on with Titanfall? Wish it was a bit prettier on PC?
