When, in its recent announcement, Eidos claimed that Lara Croft was going back to her roots we were not exactly sure what to make of it. The new images released by the publisher however, hold a lot of promise and may bring some excitement to the long-suffering franchise.
Eidos did promise us an old-skool Lara and if these first images are anything to go by, they mean it. MegaGames has already published the first image of Lara but now we get to see her in action.
You can witness a few of those first images by following the screens tab above or you can register on the official website for the full set, including a 17MB 3D image of Lara which allows to rotate around her for a closer look.
It appears that in Tomb Raider: Legend Lara will visit places which will seem very familiar to fans of the first games. It won't all be retro though, this time round Lara will be equipped with an arsenal of modern equipment, such as a magnetic grappling device, binoculars, frag grenades, personal lighting device and communications equipment. Technology will also come to Lara's aid by enhancing her appearance as she will come alive with intricately animated expressions, moves and abilities.
There may yet be hope for our weary adventurer...
