Blood for the Blood God, will be the first DLC release for Total War: Warhammer - if you discount the Chaos launch DLC - and it adds a lot of fun new effects to the game. It won't likely change the way the game plays, but it makes a dramatic different to the way it looks, as characters can be ripped apart, blood gushing from wounds from dragons, trolls and swords alike.
Although not announced by Creative Assembly yet, a trailer has leaked for the upcoming DLC, which shows giants biting off heads, trolls going all Hulk on some spearmen, dragons crunching troops, ball and chain swinging fanatics wading through mounds of troops and more, all spraying blood and guts everywhere as they go.
This will likely be a paid DLC pack, so it isn't for everyone, but there is a specific reason that Creative Assembly does it this way. By having the blood DLC as a secondary purchase, it is able to keep the age rating for the game low, thereby only selling the gorier parts of the game to the adults out there.
We're sure a few kids will play it too, but this does at least stop the toddlers from getting their hands on it and enraging parents everywhere.
Creative Assembly also no doubt really wanted to release a DLC called Blood for the Blood God, which is an epic name with lots of Khornish references.
