While an art book detailing upcoming and previous projects from Creative Assembly might have spoiled the surprise for us a few months ago, Total War: Warhammer has now been officially announced.
In-case the announcement wasn't enough for you however, Creative Assembly has also released a CGI trailer of the game to further whet our appetite.
While it doesn't give us any hint at gameplay, the trailer does at least give us an insight into races that feature in the game. Orks are an obvious addition being one of the more comical races in the still rather dark universe. The undead make an appearance to, with zombie dragons and vampires, suggesting some rather unique units compared to the more historically accurate games also in the Total War series.
The Empire will get flying units too, or at least one, in the form of flying ruler of the region, Karl Franz, and there's a solid mix of infantry, cavalry and artillery to keep the game interesting.
Dwarves are also present in the mix, though their stake in the wars to come looks a little smaller than most. As you might expect. They'll be going up against the likes of Chaos, who may or may not have enlisted the Lord of Change.
Total War: Warhammer is being developed by a new team at Creative, with estimates putting its release at the end of this year.
