Towers could be a relaxing Rust-like experience

Towers is a beautiful, open-world survival simulator with a unique look and feel. While that might sound like a lot of different survival games, Towers really is something quite different. It's designed to be a more relaxing, peaceful survival game than something like Rust, or ARK, even if it still employs a massive open world, bizarre creatures, and stunningly pretty aesthetics for a game prototype that is only 12 months in the making.

Towers is based in a world following a major global calamity. Humanity, or what passes for humans in this world, was almost wiped out and now it's up to players to rebuild society from the ground up. To do so they'll hunt, tame, and ride giant, monstrous alien creatures, build encampments, travel the world, harvest materials, grow food, and explore an expansive landscape.

Ultimately, they can create towns and the towers that give the game its name.

That's a good thing too, as though most parts of Towers are beautiful and calming, there are some more dangerous parts to be wary of. There are hulking, malicious creatures that hunt the players and their otherwise peaceful co-inhabitants of the world, skeletal monstrosities that will see your towns and towers returned to the dirt once again.

Towers is being developed by the team behind the Hawken mech-combat game and is being created in Unreal Engine 4. It's still in the prototype phase so is well away from a final release, but it certainly looks promising.

What would you like to see Towers become over the next few months and years?
