Turtle Rock's Evolve is coming this October, so less than five months away now, but despite that relatively short time frame, we still don't know much about the game. Sure we have the basic gameplay down and we know about one team of hunters, one map and one monster, but that's it.
Well no more.
In a new batch of footage that the Left 4 Dead developer has dumped online after inviting a bunch of (lucky) press to have a play of the game at 2K's HQ, we now get a chance to meet four new hunters which offer variations on the originally revealed class of heroes.
The first hunter we're introduced to, is Hyde, a new assault class packing a minigun, powerful flamethrower and some toxic grenades for flushing the monster out from the undergrowth.
The new medic class is named Lazarus and while he still has a burst healing power like his female variant, he doesn't have the distance heal beam. Instead, he's great at reviving downed characters. He'll be able to sit back and snipe a bit more than she will, keeping himself inconspicuous with a personal cloaking system.
Maggie is the trapper alternative, coming with some harpoon mines and her very own dog-like pet, Daisy. Daisy can attack enemies, heal injured allies and perhaps most importantly, smell the monster, so she'll run it down in short order - making Monster escape strategies all the more necessary. Climbing something tall would be a good plan - good luck smelling up a cliff face, dog.
The final new addition is Bucket, a robot support that is able to set up minigun turrets from its stomach (maximum of five at the moment) and detach its head, sending it off like a remote drone that can track down the monster at speed and give everyone else a heads up as to where it is.
There's a new map showcased in the video too, so have a good look at it if you can, it gives a much better insight into what Evolve is shaping up to be when it hits PC, Xbox One and PS4 this October 21st.
