Ubisoft announces Unity patch delay

Despite having been released less than six weeks ago, Assassin's Creed Unity is already on its fourth patch. Or at least it would be, if it wasn't being delayed by Ubisoft.

While the publishing giant did originally promise that the patch would be released this week, to try and fix some of the many bugs that still are present in the latest AC title, it's now had to push it back due to quality control issues.

Part of you has to wonder why it didn't do that with the game itself.

"Rigorous quality control is of paramount importance to us, and your feedback over these past weeks has indicated that it is important to you as well," reads the statement, apparently without a hint of sarcasm.

"As stated last week, we’d expected to release the patch today (and we know that many are anticipating its release), but we are choosing to hold off until we can give you the improvements we’ve promised. We are committed to delivering major performance improvements, which requires that we refurbish the Paris map and that will take a few more days to hit the high level of quality our players deserve."

It then went on to thank everyone for their patience.

Even with free DLC for those affected by the AC Unity debacle, it seems like patience is the wrong word at this point. Maybe saintly forgiveness? Something stronger certainly as this game has been a complete mess of a release.
