Ubisoft apologises for Unity with free DLC

If you purchased Assassin's Creed Unity, chances are you've run into at least one of the many hundreds of bugs and problems that have come to light since the game's release. Chances are as well, that left you hopping mad since this game is brand new, it shouldn't be experiencing these sorts of issues already.

While Ubisoft has been valiantly struggling to get control of the hate train and bring some semblance of order to the game, it's been over two weeks since it was launched and it's still filled with problems, especially when it comes to connecting online and playing with friends, one of the game's marquee features.

So to apologise to fans, it's going to be giving away the first round of DLC for Unity.

"Unfortunately, at launch, the overall quality of the game was diminished by bugs and unexpected technical issues," Ubisoft Montreal boss Yannis Mallat said. "I want to sincerely apologise on behalf of Ubisoft and the entire Assassin's Creed team. These problems took away from your enjoyment of the game, and kept many of you from experiencing the game at its fullest potential."

"To show our appreciation for your continued support, we’re making the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Unity Dead Kings DLC free for everyone," she said.

Of course this would be likely to annoy those that paid up-front for the Season pass, as now some of what they paid for is going to be given away for free.

To appease them, Ubisoft will be giving anyone that purchased a season pass a free game, and not just something from the company's back catalogue, but a selection of pretty new titles. They include:

Just Dance 2015
Assassin's Creed Black Flag
Rayman Legends
Watch Dogs
Far Cry 4
The Crew

Anyone wish to redeem the game, has until the 15th March next year to do so. For more information, check out the Ubisoft FAQ here.
