If we are to believe EBGames and GameStop, the retailers who let the story out by listing an XBox version of Unreal 2, the game will be released in the U.S. on September 12th, 2003 while Europe shouldn't expect it before November of the same year.
Details on what exactly the XBox version will feature have not yet been publicized but some assumptions can safely be made. XBox Live support is a certainty, while a variety of tweaks or extra options will definitely be needed if the console version is to attract any audience.
The passage of Unreal 2 onto Microsoft's console is part of the company's ongoing effort to draw all established and successful PC titles onto its platform. With Half-Life 2, Halo 2 and Unreal 2 Microsoft will get the holy trinity of FPS on XBox. This move will aim to once again stress to gamers that some titles can only be supported by XBox and the PC.
