We already know that Valve is actively experimenting with virtual reality controllers. Now, Valve engineer Ben Krasnow has finally gave us an insight on some of the company's most exciting/crazy prototypes.
The first controller, "the posture controller" a.k.a. "the butt controller" is sat on, allowing the player to control in-game movement by leaning in the four directions. It is not as precise as the mouse (yet), but it is good enough for moving first person characters around and for leaning to shoot out of cover for instance.
The second controller is a tongue-controlled mouse. Again, it is not as precise as a real mouse, but it certainly has its benefits for disabled users.
Krasnow doesn't actually expect people to adopt those controllers anytime soon. He's merely showing us glimpses of his work-in-progress which may eventually produce the next big thing in gaming.
