Valve might be set to announce a Half Life VR game

Valve hasn't made a Half Life game since 2007, and yet somehow people are still interested in a sequel. Whether a Half Life 3, or a Half Life 2 Episode 3, they want some closure, but Valve never been interested in making it, it seems. But that may no longer be the case, as a new rumor suggests that Valve has a brand new Half Life game in the works. A game based around key character in the series, Alyx, and it's a VR game.

Allegedly set to debut on December 12 at the Game Awards, Half Life: Alyx, as it's known, was detailed in a leaked interview between Geoff Keighly, the creator of the Final Hours documentary about Valve games, Robin Walker, who was the co-developer of Team Fortress 2, and an as-yet unnamed individual. According to PCGamer's coverage of it, the leak suggests that the game will launch in March 2020.

When asked if people without VR headsets would be able to enjoy the game, the unnamed individual reportedly said:

"I mean we would love to be delivering a version of this that you could play with a mouse and a keyboard, but like as we said, it began as an exploration of VR."

The game itself is said to allow players to "see their whole body-- Respond to the situation. You know, panicking, dropping clips on the ground as they fumble their weapons 'cause a zombie's in front of them, all these things, they're just - it's been really fun watching playtests."

Valve has yet to issue a statement on this rumor and is unlikely to. We may hear more on December 12.
