Brace yourself, you're never going to stop gaming in the very near future. Valve has announced that the Steam Link application will soon expand its functionality into game streaming. That means that when the update lands, you'll be able to play your entire Steam library of games on your phone.
Set to land on May 21, the update will be compatible with both iOS and Android devices -- tablets and smartphones alike -- and as long as they share a Wi-Fi connection with the network that the main gaming PC that holds all of the data, you'll be able to play your entire Steam library through your portable device. It will be compatible with Steam controllers too, so you don't even need to think about using touchscreen controls for those games that need more hands-on control.
That's going to be a necessity for a lot of games too, as most PC titles are simply not designed with touchscreen controls on a tiny display in mind. Indeed even viewing the interfaces of many games on a mobile handset is going to be tough. Still, the functionality is neat and should mean that certain titles find increased numbers of players because you don't have to sit in front of your PC to play them.
The same will soon be true of Steam videos as well. If you've purchased movies, short films or documentaries through Steam, when the video app update comes this summer, you'll be able to watch them on your mobile device too.
