The last year and a half have seen some of the most problematic game launches in the history of the medium. There was SimCity, Diablo III and perhaps worst of all, Battlefield 4, which was still suffering from game breaking bugs months after it was put on the shelves. The next title in that series, Battlefield Hardline, isn't that far away at this point, so the creators, Visceral, have stepped forward to lay gamer concerns to rest: It will work at launch.
During a chat with at the Tokyo Game Show, Visceral Games' creative director, Ian Milham, said: "What you're basically asking [about launch stability] is, 'Is you're game going to work?' and the answer is yes, it's gonna work," he said.
"We actually started on this more than a year before Battlefield 4 came out. We've been working with the DICE guys for a long time; some of our engineering work is actually in Battlefield 4 and things they've been doing since then. It's in pretty great shape now and all that work is gonna come into what we're doing."
He also confirmed that there would be betas on every single platform that the game is launching on and that there would be more events to make sure that the game ships in an entirely working state.
However, he claimed that there would likely be some minor issues, since the game was a big one, launching on five separate platforms, but that he was confident all major bugs would be avoided.
What do you guys think? Do you have much confidence in Hardline after the disastrous BF4 launch?
