Walking Dead Season 2 gets release date

Clementine

While the whole zombie thing feels a little played out at the moment, one game featuring the undead legions that I am still somewhat excited for is Walking Dead season 2, the second round of Telltale's episodic, conversational adventure title, is coming very soon and now we know when.

Mark your calendars folks - on your phones of course, I'm not as old as I sound - for December 17th, as that's when the first episode of the new season drops.

As excited as I and many others are for it though, based on the high quality and genre defining elements of the first season, this second could be markedly different. Why? Because two of the people responsible for the original are no longer working at the company.

Former Telltale designers Jake Rodkin and Sean Vanaman now work at a new studio with the guy behind Mark of the Ninja, so they didn't have much input beyond the Walking Dead 400 Days DLC.

*Major Season One spoilers follow*

Of course, this new season has a new protagonist, in the form of little Clementine. This was bound to happen after the climactic end of the last season, which saw Lee face his eventual demise while handcuffed to a radiator.

Season 2 kicks off a few months after the last, with Clementine fending for himself for the first time in a long time.

You can pre-order the entirety of Season 2 now, including all episodes, here.
