If you thought there weren't enough Warhammer games being released at the moment, including Space Hulk last year, the upcoming Bloodbowl 2, Bloodbowl team manager, the 40k Apocalypse TBS, Armageddon and more, then clearly you're a bigger nerd than I am. But even so, another game is in the works. It's called Mordheim: City of the Damned and it's being developed by the unknown Rogue Factor and published by Focus Home Interactive.
The game will follow the same set up as the table top miniature skirmish game, which sees bands of warriors fighting over supplies of Warpstone in a dilapidated city, awash with monsters and ghouls.
"Pick your warbands from iconic Mordheim factions - Sisters of Sigmar, Possessed, Skaven, Mercenaries from the Empire, and many more - and lead your troops to battle," reads the game's PR. "Recruit new units, equip them with enhanced gear. Evolve and customize your warband with the experience gained from each successful mission, transforming them into a terrifying force on the battlefield."
There's also going to be lots of the great randomised rules that make the GW skirmish games fun. Lose a fight badly? One of your characters may lose a leg, or an eye, or an arm, all of which will affect their stats come the next battle.
It's Gorkamorka, with less orks. While that's depressing, it's still an interesting system and could make for a fun turn based PC title.
Featuring single player missions and dedicated multiplayer maps, Modrheim: City of the Damned is coming late 2014 to the PC.
What do you guys think? More turn based strategy on the PC is hardly a bad thing, especially since it's set in the Warhammer universe.
