After what anonymous sources are calling "mismanagement," over at the 2K Prague offices, they're set to close at the end of today. Some of the developer's staff will be relocated to the other Czech offices in Brno and others will head across the ocean to 2K's California office, but a large number are also looking to be picked up by Kingdom Come: Deliverance developer, Warhorse Studios.
It's not known at this point which developers will be going where, or if indeed Warhorse is looking for any particular sort of talent, though we do know that the problems that occurred at the Czech development offices were supposedly down to a lack of understanding of the local customs and society.
However the closure is also thought to be at least partly motivated by 2K's desire to rebuild its Californian offices, and nabbing some developers from one of its already existing studios to bolster numbers is an easy way to do that, even if it does mean flying them half way round the world to do it.
As it stands, the development status of the rumoured Mafia 3 is completely unknown. It may not have been in production at all, but if it was, chances are it's on hold for the foreseeable future.
