Evolve is the upcoming, asymmetrical, cooperative, competitive, third-person, first-person shooter from Left 4 Dead developer Turtle Rock and it's had a lot of hype pushing it forward over the past few months. However in the build up to the Alpha, which has now begun, things have gone a little quiet, so it's nice to see a bunch of new footage of the game, especially since it comes from a fan rather than an official channel.
Filmed at a Munich event, where the game was playable and filmable, Youtuber JackFrags nabbed over 20 minutes of him flying around, slashing away at neutral creatures and hunters as the Kraken.
This is the first time we've gotten a real up-close look at the Kraken monster throughout an entire round of gameplay, showing us how he levels up, and deals with early hunter attacks, as well as going toe to toe in the later rounds.
While we're focused on the Kraken for the entire game however, we also get to see some different strategies from the hunters. At times the Kraken gets caught by harpoon traps or support gun turrets around the map, pinning him in place and giving the hunters a heads up as to where he is.
What do you guys think about how the game is shaping up? Do you think it will prove to be popular after release, or will it have a Titanfall like surge and then a quick drop off?
