Oh boy, isn't this just wonderfully charming. Giant one armed bodies, animatronic toys, heads and bugs and bloody hands and... all sorts of awful. The new Silent Hills trailer is a real treat if you're a fan of the heebie jeebies.
While entirely CGI, the trailer has a similar aesthetic feel to the recent interactive demo of the game and there's a real indie-horror feel to it, even though it's quite polished. That's a good thing, as the indie horror scene has been very, very creative in recent years, moving way beyond the usual jump scares that "horror" games rely upon.
Taking some of that inspiration for a new Silent Hill game would be a smart plan and that seems to be what the creators, Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro, are doing here.
The demo for the series, which was only announced as a Silent Hill game after it was released, has been downloaded over a million times to date. Were any of you guys one of that number? If so, what did you think?
