A lot of Windows Phone 7 developers have reported receiving an update that enables copy-and-paste functionality earlier this week. Now, WinRumors website claims that it has managed to leak WP7 2011's update schedule.
According to WinRumors, Windows Phone 7 will receive 2 major updates next year, the first of which will bring copy-and-paste functionality, while the second will bring several enhancements to third party apps.
The first update is intended to go live during the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) after Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer's opening keynote on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. PST (9:30 p.m. EST).
The second update will be released a month later at the 2011 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona Spain. It will give WP7 developers access to a new set of include APIs which would allow third party multi-tasking, in-app downloads and better customization for end users.
The leak didn't make it clear whether other sought-for features such as tethering, maps and memory card hot swapping will make it to any of the 2 major updates or not.
