This Winterfell Battle Simulator is blowing up

Were you frustrated by the end of Game of Thrones and its seemingly ludicrous Battle for Winterfell? Well now you can prove the show creators wrong and show just how Jon Snow and his compatriots should have composed themselves in the battle, with the Winter Falling browser game. Available for free and built in Unity, it's a charming little real time strategy game with some simple controls but surprisingly deep mechanics that offer a real challenge to even the most experienced of game-chair generals.

Like many Game of Thrones show fans, game designer Arek Rebacz found serious fault with the strategic choices made by the military leaders in the Battle for Winterfell, so he sought to create a game that let people fix that.

In Winter Falling you'll have access to foot troops, veteran spearmen, archers, catapults, cavalry, heroes, dragons, and a "raven" of sorts, all of which give you a modicum of chance against the undead. Those near-death creatures are more numerous than you are and revive after a set period of time, so your only real chance of winning is breaking their lines and getting to the undead king beyond them.

You'll earn stars as you defeat certain enemies, unlocking more powerful attack moves, such as hiding your heroes, bringing in the dragons for a flaming strike, or adding the super powerful plot armor to key figures.

You can play it now if you head over to Newgrounds, which has somehow survived the impending death of Flash player and now thrives with new content built in Unity and HTML5.

Did any of you manage to kill the night king?
