The Witcher III: Wild Hunt was a beautiful game when it was first released, but that doesn't mean it can't be made to look even prettier. As usual, modders have been working hard at that and version 5.0 Witcher 3 HD Reworked project is one of many that have done a bang up job at it. In the latest trailer for the mod, The Witcher 3's graphics look better than ever and it gives first-timers and returning gamers the opportunity to enjoy its world like never before.
The mod introduces a reworked Ultra HD quality setting, which overhauls stoine walls, bricks and stairs, adds new cobblestone, pine trees and plaster walls, better wood pannelling, new windows, improved ropes, sheep, anchors and fishing news, a new temple mural, bottles, bear furs and wood tables. It also updates water for rivers and streams, and adds new HDR options in the options menu.
The trailer above shows how subtle changes to the various components that make up the Witcher's world can make a dramatic increase in how good it looks, even at a distance. A lot of it has to do with increasing the contrast alongside greater detail, which lets the eye pick out new features of the stone and woodwork in the game.
Perhaps the best part of this mod is that it has such little performance impact on the game. The mod team claims that on most cards it should impact them no more than five frames per second, but some high-end cards may not be affected at all.
