The Witcher "Adventure" board game was announced earlier this year and while still not released, is looking better each time we see it. Produced by Fantasy Flight, with its long running pedigree of high quality board game conversions, it's got people's hopes quite high. Releasing alongside it in August though, it looks like we'll be getting a digital version as well, as yesterday CD Projekt Red announced a PC version of that same game, landing as part of its new DRM free digital distribution platform, GoG Galaxy.
The video doesn't tell us much about gameplay, but you can sign up for a chance to enter the closed beta now, so it won't be long before we can learn more.
Featuring characters like Geralt, Dandelion the Bard, Triss and Yarpen Zigrin the Dwarf, you'll complete quests, battle monsters all the while competing against your friends to be the top of the pile. There's also talk of a narrative being interwoven into every game, that's randomised each time.
Set to be released on PC and Mac later this year, the game will also release on iOS and Android tablets, which shows that this won't be the most taxing of games ever. However the fact that it's not hitting smartphones suggests that it will still have a bit of visual flair.
