Microsoft has taken steps to make Xbox more appealing to indie developers, but it seems that those steps are still not enough to satisfy the needs of free-to-play game developers.
Earlier this year, Microsoft removed the hefty Xbox patch certification fees. However, Wargaming CEO Victor Kislyi believes that this is not enough without shortening the process itself.
"One of the biggest challenges with Microsoft was the frequency of updates because the QA process and certification process takes an extremely long time," he said. "Totally unacceptable for a meaningful free-to-play."
Kislyi has been in talks with Microsoft to streamline the patch certification process, but he has no clue whether his advice will be followed.
"We are working with them to do quicker updates," he said. "We will see, there is a lot of work on the technical side and on the administrative side which should resolve in the acceptable quality of the product, including updates of the product including speed and rates. So we will see."
Wargaming studio is known for the Xbox 360 hit, World of Tanks.
