I'm not sure I'd be willing to pay the $50 price tag for it, but I think I prefer this version of Call of Duty better. The guys over at PC Gamer are closing out the year with a cheery look at this year's biggest blockbuster, more-of-the-same FPS, Call of Duty Ghosts by converting it into a text adventure.
Of course removing the visuals from Call of Duty, doesn't leave you much else. There's the "shoot the men," gameplay of course, and the problems with the plot, but it wouldn't be sporting to highlight those... right?
That's what's happening here though, with plenty of tongue in cheek references to the more ridiculous parts of the game. Things like the idea that the squad is called "ghosts," and yet happen to love bombastic attack plans filled with more noise and "shock 'n awe," than entire armies.
Then there's the fact that the dog apparently kills people silently. A stealth dog. Those exist, right?
Of that you spend much of the game following other characters.
And of course there are space-men with guns on the ISS. Why wouldn't there be?
