Microsoft has debuted a brand new official controller called the Xbox Adaptive Controller and it's designed with the handicapped in mind. With two large buttons, a D-Pad, menu buttons and support for a number of additional accessories, the controllers are aimed at making it possible for gamers of all physical abilities to enjoy their favorite past time.
The Adaptive Controller is designed to do more than just provide basic input options itself though. It also acts as a hub for all manner of accessibility input options. With 19 3.5mm ports on the rear, alongside a USB port and wireless connectivity, disabled gamers and their assistants can connect up any manner of input mechanisms, from chin buttons, to other controllers, joysticks and more, to let them play the games they want in a manner that's comfortable and intuitive.
There's a button remapping system built right into the controller/switch and it can be paired directly with the Xbox One itself, making the console arguably the best platform for disabled gamers the world over.
Although not available just yet, the Xbox Adaptive Controller will be released later this year with a price tag of $100.
