At E3 2015, Microsoft announced that it will add backward compatibility for a growing backlog of last gen games to Xbox One by November. Microsoft promised that the initial roster will include more than 100 titles.
Microsoft shared more details during this week's Xbox Gamescom media briefing. The company committed that its exclusive franchises such Gears of War, Halo, Fable, and Crackdown will receive the backwards compatibility treatment alongside third-party publishers like Ubisoft, Bethesda, Deep Silver, Capcom, EA, 2K, Warner Bros., and more.
Near the end of the session, Microsoft showcased an impressive rotating wall of Xbox 360 titles that will be playable on Xbox One. A hundred games is by no means a small number, so it is really surprising that Microsoft felt the need to use smoke and mirrors to make the list look bigger.
The sharp eyes of Game Informer editors noticed that nearly all the games in the rotating wall were duplicated several times. They took the time to remove the duplicates and ended up with a less impressive wall.
