Considering Microsoft's big push for sharing with its latest generation of console, it's a surprise that the Xbox One shipped without the ability to take screenshot images. However it did, which means its been over a year without the option of snapping your favourite moment from a game or TV show and sharing it with your buddies.
Not for much longer though, as Xbox head, Phil Spencer, has been teasing the ability on his official twitter feed, where he showed an image saying "Press Y to save the screenshot," alongside a record function.
"Nice to finally be doing this on my Xbox One dev kit," he said.
While some questioned whether pausing and pressing yet another button was a bit clumsy, Spencer did admit that the interface for taking a screenshot was still in the testing phase.
Expect this new ability - which the PS4 has had since launch - to appear at some point in a new monthly firmware update.
