As part of its new run of original programming, Microsoft is looking to make a half hour drama series about rapper Nas, documenting his life and growth as an artist in a show called Street Dreams.
According to Deadline, Electric City Entertainment will handle the production of the show, which will be set in Queensbridge, Long Island, in the neighbourhood Nas grew up in. While it won't cover everything in his life, the show is set to be about his upbringing and how he got into the music business in the first place.
The show is being written and directed by Jonathan Levine, who also wrote and directed the Seth Rogan and Joseph Gordon Levitt cancer romp, 50/50 and the re-imagining of the zombie genre, Warm Bodies.
Nas is also going to be involved in the writing process, as well as consulting on various aspects of production.
Other original shows coming to the Xbox platform this year include a reality soccer show, a Rob Dyrdek comedy half hour and the much touted Steven Spielberg produced Halo TV series.
