Although AMD's RX Vega 64 range of graphics wasn't quite as impactful as fans might have hoped -- certainly not stealing the show in quite the same fashion as Zen -- the third-party-manufacturer versions will push the reference design a little further, making them that bit more competitive with Nvidia's offerings. PowerColor will join that collective soon enough, with a new Red Devil version of its RX Vega 64 card recently debuted.
The full-size card comes mounted with a triple fan cooler over its expansive heatsink, which suggests better temperatures, quieter operation and probably a nice little overclock too. The card comes with three DIP switches, one of which tweaks between three different BIOS configurations -- likely performance and quiet modes -- and another which turns the "Devil" LED logo on and off.
Videocardz has it that the reference board design doesn't appear to have been changed much. There are the same number of V-Core phases, but the board has been made a little wider to help mount the new, larger cooling configuration.
Rear ports include a pair of HDMI connectors and two DisplayPorts, which makes this card a little more friendly with older monitor configurations. Four ports makes it capable of powering larger multi-display set ups too.
We also learned that PowerColor is working on a custom RX Vega 56 too, though it doesn't appear to be a Red Devil version.
No word yet on the pricing or availability of these cards, but we'd expect the Red Devil 64 to launch before the holidays.
