Yamaha announced their new CD-RW line which will offer 20x recording, 10x rewritting and 40x reading and ripping. Just a few months after announcing the 16x model they surprised everyone with their new line.
The upcoming drive will be carry Yamaha's Safe-Burn technology to avoid buffer overrun errors and will offer an 8 Mb buffer.
In all 5 different versions of the product, Yamaha are calling it the CRW2200, will be released: internal and external IDE and SCSI plus FireWire and USB, using the 2.0 protocol.
Estimated release is for Q2 2001.
