You Can Now Pay to Add Cubelets to Curiosity

Curiosity

Remember Curiosity? No? Me neither really... so here's a recap.

Curiosity was the first game out of Peter Molyneux's 22 Cans studio, which was designed to bring tens of thousands of people together to tap away at their smartphones, removing blocks from a cube. Riveting stuff right? Well you could also pay to remove blocks faster.

Now though, as if people weren't excited enough by the prospect of touching their touch screen, you can now pay to add blocks or cubelets, back to it. This could annoy people or make it harder for the final layer to be revealed.

Yes initially there was some buzz about what would be at the centre of the cube, but over six months on with no real changes to "gameplay," and the world has moved on - as I would presume, have most of the players.

But how much will it all cost? According to PocketGamer, 99 cents lets you remove 10,000 cubelets, whilst $6.99 will take away 100,000 of your choice. If you want to go the whole hog and pay $10.99, you can take away 500,000 blocks.

"We don't know quite what will happen in this war of attrition," a 22Cans spokesperson said in a statement. "Curiosity may very well rapidly degrade to reveal its innermost secret or maybe the effects of automatically removing cubelets will be neutralised by players keen to keep Curiosity going."

At the time of writing, there's around four billion cubelets remaining, so still plenty of time to get in on the "action."
