You can play Blood Gulch in Counter Strike

Ah Blood Gulch: the scene of many an epic 2v2 on the original Halo: Combat Evolved. It was perhaps the favourite map of many Halo players, despite its size meaning there was a little too much sniping for many people's liking. It had bases to fight in, portals to use, warthogs to drive and shoot from - it had everything you wanted from a Halo map.

And now you can see how that map translates to Counter Strike: Global Offensive, if you're so inclined. Thanks to the efforts of an enterprising modder, Blood Gulch has now been ported into CS:GO, with the expected additions of buy zones and bombs to defuse.

The geometry is created from scratch too, which is why it's so impressive that the map looks as close to the real deal as it does. The bases are in the same spots, the rocks, the roads, the hills, all of it. Textures and some assets were ripped from Halo: Custom Edition, which made some of it a little easier to reproduce we'd imagine, but there were a few concessions made for the fact that Source's texture handling is a little different than the original.

If you'd like to have a play around with csgo_bloodgulch, you can do so by downloading it from Steam's workshop here. You will need a copy of CS:GO to make it work though.
