ZombiU was one of the WiiU's quite unique launch titles and proved one of its early pseudo-success stories. The game combined traditional zombie survival with a unique, unpausable gamepad inventory mechanic, at a time before DayZ and H1Z1 were tearing up the charts. Since then of course it's not exactly remained contemporary, but it wasn't a bad game, so it's not too surprising that nearly three years on, it's showing up on other consoles too.
Renamed to just Zombi, the survival horror title is set for release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on August 18.
There's also a new trailer for its impending release, which publisher Ubisoft has just dropped.
While there won't be much in the way of the second screen mechanic which made so much of the game a tense experience, Ubisoft has said that the game will be much prettier for being ported over to newer systems. The PC version in particular, we're told will "bring gamers to a new level of horror."
However you can't pause the game and look at the inventory, much like the original, so it should still be quite a tense experience. Any of you that missed out on the WiiU exclusive interested to see what the fuss was about?
