As much as board and card games might be, well, all fun and games, their popularity can mean that now and again certain aspects become valuable and unfortunately, that means someone is going to try and steal them. That's exactly what's happened at Pat's Games in Austin, Texas, where more than $75,000 worth of Magic Cards was stolen.
The theft took place at 1AM, with the criminals using a water-key to break into the property. After that they cleared out several display cases with high-value magic cards in them, clearly knowing exactly what they were looking for.
Although both men wore clothing in an attempt to hide their identities to some extent, one man didn't bother with a face mask and left quite a clear profile of himself on the shop's security camera. Unfortunately though, that's about all the police have to go on at the moment.
Although that might not be much to go on, there is a chance that the duo will be tracked down when they try and sell the cards. In a credit to the local police, owner Pay Johnson explained on Facebook that they had actually found someone on the force who plays Magic and he'll be taking over the case, even though he usually only does residential burglaries.
What a stroke of luck.
Do you have any valuable cards you'd hate to see stolen away from under your nose?
