Game modifications often feature some bizarre and outlandish settings, models, textures and mechanics, but if you make it a competition where people can win actual money, expect them to go all out. That's what has happened with a number of the mods for Ark: Survival Evolved, which has seen players create a number of exciting additions in the hope of winning some cash.
In one instance, the experience gets entirely otherworldly, by sending dinosaurs and their player pets to the surface of the moon.
As is typical of Ark, the mod is very pretty, with all the usual vistas for greenery, replaced by grey rocks and dust and the dinosaurs don't necessarily have skin anymore - but that's ok. They're still epic, can still roar (apparently) and they can still eat you.
To stay alive on the moon, you'll need to harvest resources, craft tools and survival equipment, build a space base, drive a rover around and perhaps make friends with those skeletal reptiles that seem to inhabit our nearest major satellite.
