After seven years in development, Blizzard has decided to cancel its next gen MMO Project Titan.
"We didn't find the fun," explained Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime. "We didn't find the passion. We talked about how we put it through a reevaluation period, and actually, what we reevaluated is whether that's the game we really wanted to be making. The answer is no."
Although it was never announced officially, info about Project Titan surfaced as early as 2007 in job adverts. Last year, Blizzard co-founder Mike Morhaime revealed that the game was undergoing substantial change and that it may not even be an MMORPG anymore.
"The discipline of knowing when to quit is important," said Blizzard's senior vice president of story and franchise development Chris Metzen. "We were losing perspective and getting lost in the weeds a little. We had to allow ourselves to take that step back and reassess why the hell we were doing that thing in the first place."
