Bloodbowl 2 launches today, finally bringing the sequel to Cyanide's original fantasy football brawler to life. Not fantasy football in the traditional sense of course: this is football with trolls and orcs.
It's not just orcs though. In the launch trailer we get a look at all of the various teams within the game: the cowardly and sneaky skaven, the versatile humans, high throwing, high catching, high caliber high elves, the dangerous and brutal dark elves and of course the deathroller piloting dwarves.
The trailer makes it all seem a lot more frantic than it is though. It almost seems like it runs in real time and at close up angles, making this a pretty poor representation of gameplay. Still, it looks very pretty and there are lots of new additions, including improved UI and league play for long time fans to get their teeth into.
We just can't help but feel that with a trailer that doesn't represent the game at all, or really show any of its improvements beyond the aesthetics, it's unlikely to draw in any new players.
