The PC and Xbox 360 versions of id's Rage runs at more than double the frame rate of the Playstation 3 version, John Carmack revealed.
Currently under development at id Software studios, Rage is a first-person shooter and racing video game which utilizes the company's latest id Tech 5 graphics engine.
Currently, the Playstation 3 version of Rage runs at no more than 20 to 30 fps while the PC and Xbox 360 versions maintain a solid 60 fps.
"The PS3 lags a little bit behind in terms of getting the performance out of it," John Carmack said. "The rasteriser is just a little bit slower - no two ways about that."
"The RSX is slower than what we have in the 360. The CPU is about the same, but the 360 makes it easier to split things off, and that's what a lot of the work has been, splitting it all into jobs on the PS3," he explained.
