Selling DLC is hard. People don't tend to like it. Somehow though Valve made people dispensing with their money to make their guns look a bit different in CS:GO a real thing that real people do, but that of course means there's huge competition among people making the skins.
That's why Chris "C-LegFX" Lee, the creator of the Cutthroat Collection of CS:GO weapon skins splashed out on some advertising. They didn't make banner adverts for websites, or take out a page in a newspaper though, these guys hired on legendary B movie star and real-world badass Danny Trejo, to showcase the new skins in action and hopefully make you want to buy them.
This isn't just a random choice though. The Cutthroat collection is designed to reference various weapons from B movies, making Trejo an obvious choice. Chris Lee was also the director of movie Juarez 2045, which Trejo starred in. Because of course he did.
If he'd do Machete 2, he'd so that. And this, evidently.
How much have you spent on weapon skins in CS:GO or other games?
