Dave and Busters will be proving ground for Pokken Tournament

Nintendo has a history of not being sure if its Japanese focused titles will work overseas, so traditionally it doesn't tend to bother. However it's being a little more considerate with the Pokemon based fighter, Pokken Tournament. While it's not quite ready to announce a full scale release, it is going to trial it as an arcade game in various Dave and Buster facilities around the United States.

This isn't Nintendo snubbing the console market, as no version of the game outside of its original Arcade release has been announced, though presumably based on its popularity it will have some kind of home based title at some point.

Despite the fact that Pokken Tournament is only going to be trialled in a few locations, Namco has said it's actually more confident about the reception of that game over Tekken 7, which is also in development at the same company.

No word on when we can expect this roll out of arcade machines to begin, but presumably we'll see quite a big announcement in the coming weeks when it does.

What do you think of the look of Pokken Tournament? It's hardly the full-scale PC or console RPG everyone has asked for for years, but it gives us a different way to enjoy our favourite monster battler.
